Frequently asked questions.

What Chemicals Does NextDoorWashing use?

We primarily use Bleach(sodium hypochlorite) and Surfactant(a soap foaming solution) during our operations. Additionally, we will use efflorescence removers, sodium metasilicate, sodium carbonate, sodium hydroxide, citric acid, oxalic acid, sodium hydrosulfite and more.

Will The Chemical Damage my Property?

Unless professionally done, the chemicals may damage your property and garden. However, NextDoorWashing operates with calculated diluted solutions. Also, before, during, and after the soft washing (use of chemical) process, we will rinse all impacted materials with water. This process ensures that your naturals and home do not become damaged or stained.

How do the chemicals work?

The chemicals work as both a pre-treatment and post-treatment.

The purpose of pre-treating with solution is to help loosen and bring out all of the dirt and bacteria, providing a higher quality result quicker and easier.

We then post-treat with chemicals in order to enhance the longevity of your properties exterior look. Our goal is to wash your home once a year and not once every month. Post-Treating makes this possible by removing striping from our equipment and killing off any remaining bacteria.

What Will the Bleach Do?

According to jracenstine, “Bleach kills organic matter like Gloeocapsa Magma algae, mold, mildew, moss, and lichen, which are the primary types of growth that need to be removed during soft washing.”

What Will the Surfactant do?

According to jracenstine, “This is where a surfactant comes into play. “Surfactants” are “surface acting agents” that work by reducing the surface tension of water, which helps it spread out more evenly. Surfactants also help penetrate and loosen dirt, grime, and other contaminants so they can be rinsed away.”

How are the chemicals prepared?

NextDoorWashing operates with a metering valve that provides exacted proportions of chemical and dilution percentages. This is a three valve system with a water intake, bleach intake, and a surfactant intake while also having containers of degreaser, metal treatment, and wood treatment solutions on stand-by.

Will I be able to do this myself?

That is a very high initial investment just for your home along with the elbow grease and countless hours of learning how to power wash.
